| Frequently
Asked Questions
Q. Why does
the Pastor dress so casual? Where is his suit and tie?
A. We don't feel
the need to dress in our finest because we don't want YOU to feel
the need to dress
in your finest. Let's face it, we all have varying degrees of "finest". We want you to come in whatever
you feel comfortable in and so, in order to encourage that, our
Pastor doesn't wear a suit. If you like wearing suits or
dresses or skirts, by all means, wear it. If you prefer
jeans....great. Come and be comfortable knowing that no one is
looking at how dressed up you are or aren't.
We care about your heart, not your wardrobe.
Q.
The Pastor sits on a stool when he preaches??? Why does he do
that?
A. Because it
would look weird if he sat on the floor.
Q. Does
Relevant have Sunday School?
A. There is
currently no Sunday School because of time constraints in setting up
the Auditorium. We do however offer a class for people new to
the Christian experience called "Foundations." It
meets at 9:30AM in the Children's Church Room.
Q. Why are you
meeting in a hotel?
A. The Ramada Inn
is in a Central location in Watertown, with a large Conference room to accommodate growth, and nice facilities for our Children's
programs. They're also very close to all the great
restaurants!!
Q.
Why don't you meet on Sunday nights like other churches?
A. We're not like
other churches. We feel like most people only have the
weekends with their families and we don't want to pressure you to
spend ALL DAY at church when you can be cultivating a relationship
with your family
(which blesses God). So come worship with us, have lunch, go
home and take a nap, a walk or jog...but whatever you do...get some
rest and hug your children. Worship doesn't stop after the
Church service ends.
Q. What is the
leadership structure at Relevant?
A. The leadership
team is made up of the Pastor, Elders, and individual Ministry Team
Leaders. The Church as a whole is aligned under the Church of
God, Headquartered in Cleveland, TN (see www.churchofgod.cc).
Q. How can I
be baptized? Can my baby be dedicated?
A. A
special baptism service called "Saturation" will be held
each quarter for individuals desiring to be baptized. We also
hold regular baby dedications which are done during the Sunday
service. Arrangements can be made for either with the Pastor
or Elders.
